Zodiac

Our company is very small and we concentrate all our efforts on maximizing the total wildlife and marine nature experience for our eco minded visitors from around Canada and the World.

The Strait of Juan de Fuca is the gateway to the great interior Salish Sea and all manner of whales and other marine mammals feeding on the many fish and plankton found here. The height of the whale-watching season is from April to November, however, many other wildlife viewing opportunities present right through the winter season such as the California and Stellar Sea Lions in huge numbers out on Race Rocks Marine Park.

Our vessel is a luxury expedition style Zodiac Medline III - the only one of its kind on the west coast of BC - and is perfect for marine mammal viewing. It has a fiberglass rigid hull with inflatable pontoons traveling over the top of the water instead of pounding through it increasing passenger comfort and safety as well as reducing the chance of seasickness. Our Zodiac is powered by a single 250 HP low emission 4-stroke Suzuki outboard able to travel as fast as or even faster than any of the aluminum zodiacs outfitted with 2 of these engines. We only schedule one trip per day so we are not in a hurry to get back for the next trip. We’ll spend a more leisurely, informative time with the animals.
